Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement 2025
1. Introduction
This statement is made pursuant to Section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and
constitutes MAK Security’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the year 2025.
At MAK Security, we maintain a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery. We are committed
to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships. We are
dedicated to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern
slavery is not taking place anywhere in our own business or within our supply chains.
2. Our Business and Structure
MAK Security is a leading security services provider based in Audenshaw, Manchester,
operating primarily across the Northwest of England. We provide a wide range of security
solutions including:
o Manned Guarding and Mobile Patrols
o Key Holding and Alarm Response
o Event Security and Facility Management
As an SIA Approved Contractor, we hold ourselves to the highest standards of professional
conduct and governance.
3. Our Supply Chains
Our supply chains include the procurement of goods and services required for the operation of
our business, such as:
o Uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
o Security technology and hardware (CCTV, radio communications)
o Professional services and sub-contracted labour (where applicable)
We recognise that the security sector can be a high-risk environment regarding labour
exploitation. Therefore, we rigorously vet our suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure they
share our commitment to human rights and compliance with the Modern Slavery Act.

4. Our Policies on Slavery and Human Trafficking
We operate several internal policies to ensure that we are conducting business in an ethical
and transparent manner. These include:
o Anti-Slavery Policy: This policy sets out the organisation’s stance on modern slavery
and explains how employees can identify instances of this and the channels for
reporting.
o Recruitment Policy: We operate a robust recruitment policy, including conducting
thorough "Eligibility to Work in the UK" checks for all employees. All staff are vetted in
strict accordance with BS 7858 standards.
o Whistleblowing Policy: We encourage a "Speak Out" culture where all employees can
report concerns related to the direct activities or the supply chains of the organisation
without fear of retaliation.
o Code of Conduct: Our code defines the way we behave as an organisation and how we
expect our employees and suppliers to act.
5. Due Diligence Processes
To identify and mitigate risk, we have in place systems to:
o Identify and assess potential risk areas in our supply chains.
o Mitigate the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our supply chains via
rigorous auditing.
o Monitor potential risk areas through our quality management systems.
o Protect whistleblowers and ensure anonymity where requested.
We require all new suppliers and sub-contractors to confirm their compliance with the Modern
Slavery Act 2015 as part of our onboarding process. We reserve the right to terminate our
relationship with any organisation found to be in breach of these standards.
6. Risk Assessment
We consider the following areas to be of highest risk within our operations:
o Agency Labour: We minimise the use of agency staff, preferring to employ SIA-
licensed staff directly. Where agency staff are required, they are sourced only from
reputable, SIA-approved providers.
o Uniform Sourcing: We endeavour to ensure our uniforms and PPE are sourced from
manufacturers who uphold ethical labour practices and fair pay.

7. Training
To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking,
we provide targeted training to our staff. All security officers and management personnel are
trained to recognise the signs of modern slavery, particularly in public-facing roles, and are
briefed on the correct reporting procedures.
8. Measuring Effectiveness
We use the following key performance indicators to monitor our effectiveness:
o Completion of right-to-work and BS 7858 vetting for 100% of new hires.
o Annual review of supplier contracts to ensure modern slavery clauses remain robust.
o Monitoring the number of reports received through our whistleblowing channels.
9. Approval
